Trip Dossier

Day 1- Arrive Kathmandu

Transfer from airport to hotel. A representative from our office will be there to receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport.  After a traditional welcome at the hotel, you will be briefed on your itinerary.

Day 2 -Kathmandu – Full day sightseeing (Bhaktapur Durbar, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square)

Today we tour World Heritage Sites of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath temple & Kathmandu Durbar Square. Lying about half an hour’s drive from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a joy to walk through the ‘vehicle-less’ cobbled lanes of the old city. Explore the pagoda temples and marvel at the exquisite workmanship of artisans of the Malla era. The Golden Gate, Datteraya Temple, 55 Windows Palace, Nyatapole Temple are some of the fascinating cultural gems of Bhaktapur.  We also visit Swoyambhunath Temple. Lying at the top of the hill, the temple is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Swoyambhunath’s origin is linked to the formation of Kathmandu valley. According to local legend the temple is as old as Kathmandu valley. Enjoy a 360 degree view of the city from the temple.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kathmandu or Basantapur Durbar Square houses the House of the Living Goddess, Hanuman Dhoka Palace Museum and scores of pagoda temples and ancient structures. Though the2015 earthquake damaged some of the structures, rebuilding and renovation work is underway.

Day 3- Kathmandu - Half day sightseeing (Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath)

Continuing with our sightseeing tour we visit Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the country. The temple is dedicated to Pashupati or Lord Shiva’s incarnation as the ‘Lord of All Living Beings’. We also visit Boudhanath Stupa the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal and one of the important centres of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 4- Drive Kathmandu to Chitwan (5 Hours)

After an early breakfast we depart for Chitwan. Lying in the Terai belt Chitwan is famous for its tropical jungles and Chitwan National Park, home to the endangered one-horned rhino and Royal Bengal Tiger. On reaching Chitwan, we check-in at our designated resort. A tour briefing will follow after refreshments. In the evening we explore a Tharu village, enjoy sunset from the riverside and as dusk falls, a Tharu Cultural Troupe will keep us entertained with their lively songs and dances.

Day 5- Chitwan – (Canoeing, Jungle walk or Visit Elephant Breeding centre, Elephant Safari)

A day filled with adventure - we enjoy a canoe ride, elephant ride and an insightful visit to the Elephant breeding Centre or a Jungle Walk.  We hop on a wooden dugout canoe and watch the jungle gliding by as our boatman deftly maneuvers the canoe over the slow moving river. We spy the wild inhabitants of the park strolling about or hiding in the tall elephant grass. Later we take a jungle walk or visit the Elephant Breeding Centre. We explore more of the park’s wilderness riding atop an elephant.

Day 6- Drive Chitwan to Pokhara (4hrs.30 mins)

After an early breakfast we follow our guide on a birdwatching tour. After witnessing the winged creatures at their nesting sites we return to our hotel and board a vehicle that takes us to Pokhara. After a delightful four and a half-hour drive, driving alongside Himalayan rivers and crossing mountain brooks and picturesque villages, we reach Pokhara. We check in at the designated hotel and retire for the day.

 Day 7-Pokhara - Sightseeing (Bindhabasini Temple, Seti River Gorge, Gorkha Museum, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave, Begnas Lake)

We commence our Pokhara sightseeing by visiting the ancient 17th century temple Bindhabasini. Later on we visit the Seti River Gorge, Gorkha Museum, Davis Falls and Gupteshwor Cave.  We wind up the day’s sightseeing with an enchanting tour of the area surrounding Begnas Lake.

Day 8- Pokhara – (Sunrise view from Sarangkot Hill, Boating on Phewa Lake, Visit Barahi Temple)

Today we wake up early and drive to Sarangkot Hill to catch the mesmerizing sight of the sun rising over the snowy Himalayan peaks, colouring the entire landscape with hues of pink, yellow and golden. Later in the day we enjoy boating on Phewa Lake’s tranquil waters. We visit the island temple of Tal Barahi located in the middle of the lake.

Day 9- Drive to Kathmandu

We return to Kathmandu via the Prithvi Highway. After reaching Kathmandu and checking in at the hotel you are free to spend the day as you wish. 

Evening, enjoy a complimentary traditional Nepali feast and a lively Nepali cultural programme.

Day 10Depart Kathmandu

Our representative will drop you at the airport on time to catch your return flight.
