Trip Dossier

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu at the Tribhuwan International Airport

Where you will find our representative awaiting your arrival with our office vehicle to pick you up and drop you to your designated hotel. Your first overnight in the valley of temples.

Day 2: After breakfast, we proceed for a tour of Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Patan Durbar Square

This tour gives you deep insights into Nepal’s iconic monuments that have been recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites. Visiting ancient Patan is pure delight; this was once an independent kingdom to itself with a rich history in Nepal’s medieval period. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara and then drive to Bijaypur. Then trek to Kalikasthan

After breakfast, we take a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara which is about 6-7 hrs drive via Prithvi Highway. Besides driving, flight can also be an option. After reaching at Pokhara, a vehicle will drive us down to Bijaypur, which is approx for 6 hours. We then do a short trek to Kalikasthan and this is where our venture begins. Overnight in a tea house.

Day 4: Trek from Kalikasthan to Patle

Our Trek to Patle begins on a level plain before we descend down through tranquil green forest to the village of Mastan Saurani; we then ascend to the village of Sundergaun to head straight down to the village of Patle where we have an overnight at a tea house and have our dinner.

Day 5: Trek from Patle to Syaglung

Today we trek to Syaglung Danda at 1730m which goes through a sprawling green forest on the right. On the way the path takes an undulating descent to the village of Ozangaun. We haul up for a brief rest at a school in Ramche, and then steeply descend to the village of Lipyani, where we stop for a breather and lunch. Hereabouts we find a few shops where we can buy some cold drinks or mineral water. The trail down here is so peaceful that you only hear the sound of your trek boots as we make a beeline for the village of Syaglung inhabited by ethnic Gurungs. From the village we get upfront views of Lamjung Himal – an astounding sight to behold!  Overnight in a tea house

Day 6: Travel from Lipyani to Pokhara

Our trek concludes today as we revert back to Lipyani, descending on stone steps to Doban Khola on the right and rice and wheat fields on the left.  We then make a brief descent to a motor road and follow a track to the village of Begnas, where we haul up for lunch in an open field. After lunch it’s a short hike along a roughshod road to a pick up point at Begnas where our vehicle waits to drive us down to Pokhara. And this concludes our trek with an overnight in Pokhara.

Day 7: Today we get geared up for some go-wild River Rafting, driving from Pokhara to Chitwan

Early morning after b/fast, we drive to Mugling which is our place for the Raft put-in point on the gushing Trisuli River. We raft for a full day. It’s a truly adrenaline pumping experience as we get worked up through the milky white rapids and begin to feel the strain in our bones as we go against the strong under currents of the river;  it’s a tingling thrill of adventure on the wild rivers which is a good feeling all by itself.  After our rafting drills, we get set for lunch and drive down a wonderful green belt to Chitwan where we check in, refresh and receive a briefing about the resort and our jungle activities. We then have supper and enjoy a cultural Tharu dance performed by the local belles. Overnight at the resort.

Day 8: This is our first morning at the Chitwan National Park

We enjoy breakfast amidst the chattering of birds that always tend to sweetly wake us up first thing in the morning during all the time we spend at the safari resort. It’s a Full day of Jungle activities in the National Park. We begin with an Elephant-back Safari that extends to a canoe-excursion to view varieties of wild life. It’s almost certain the Rhino will be seen and there is always a chance of seeing a yawning tiger relaxed under the shades of a tree. The park has a real buzzing bird life and even in winter it’s likely to get quite warm. We also get to see crocs lazing around in the sunshine on the banks of the river. Return back for Lunch in the afternoon and continue our activities till sundown. We Visit the elephants stable and their breeding centre. Dinner in the evening and while enjoying our meal we are entertained to a thrilling stick dance performed by the local tribal girls attired in their original dress.  It’s truly interesting to watch.  We then retire to bed amidst the sound of batting crickets.

Trip Info

Accommodation

A ‘TH [Teahouse Lodge] is a term used for sleeping in teahouse lodges on the trails. These teahouses are pretty basic but provide all the comforts that you would expect when hiking in remote conditions, they are cozy and warm – you’d like the homely environment. We crash out in single rooms wherever available, but often times we sometimes have to adapt to sleeping out in dormitory type rooms for a night. Generally, it’s just a bed with a pillow and blankets. It’s a matter of choice, if you want, you bring your own ‘Air pillow’ and freak out anyways, and this is adventure in the wild…the rougher it gets the better. We accommodate our trek groups in local lodges available each day. Our porters hike ahead of us to book the required rooms for the group (rooms cannot be booked in advance). Please note, that some of them are very basic and a spirit of adventure is the call of the day. It is cheaper to stay in lodges rather than organizing a camping trek.

We have a pool of hotels in Kathmandu under 3 Star categories which we provide to clients in connection with this itinerary, unless it is mentioned otherwise or clients have a special choice. You can check on the description of such hotels through our website. Accommodation is never a problem, the choice exclusively yours.

Dining

At ‘Incentive Holidays’ – its zero tolerance on cutting of cost when it comes down to feeding our trekking guests, because we know how tough it is on the trails; we provide three tasty, bountiful and nutritious meals daily with a variety of local and Western dishes. To start the day, breakfast is ‘king size’ [the first meal of the day] consisting of a choice of porridge, muesli and cereals followed by omelet, fried or scrambled eggs with chapattis or bread. Lunch is generally a selection of salad, cooked vegetable dishes, pasta and traditional breads.

After a lengthy gritty day on the trail, dinner is a hearty 3 course meal - soup, followed by a variety of vegetables, meat, rice and pasta dishes completed with a simple dessert. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are also provided at all meals. We use as much fresh produce as possible and special diets are regularly catered for. The local trek leaders are able to maintain very tight controls on health and hygiene in the kitchen with respect to general cleanliness and food preparation and also within the group with respect to personal hygiene. This has allowed us to maintain extremely high standards of health over many years of planning treks - and good health is vital to an enjoyable and successful trek and climb. All foods are well cooked and vegetables are treated by potassium permanganate or iodine. Boiled water is served for drinking. Antiseptic soaps and potassium or iodine treated water are provided for washing. Special dietary requirements can always be catered for. ‘Gluttony is a sin’ but there are no restrictions on the grub we serve to our guests on the mountains; we leave it up to our trekking guests who are the best judge of their own appetites. For meals in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan, the delightful choices are a delicatessen’s delight; you’ll find your favorite choices in all these cities.

Best Time to Visit

If you come to Nepal and have a flexible schedule, then take the time to visit these places.  Nepal always has something to offer its guests.  During the peak season (October to December) and (mid of February to May), the stunning panorama of the Himalayas is at its crisp-beautiful-best, but there is really no season in which Nepal is not a beautiful or pleasant place to visit.
