Day 3: Buddha Purina  celebrations at Lumbini Garden and Mayadevi temple

After breakfast, we set out on a tour of the Sacred Gardens. We begin with a tour of archaeological Buddhist sites and the Mayadevi temple which displays some interesting sights of the Buddha’s mother. We later drive a few kilometers for a visit to religious and archeological sites at Devdaha and Ramagram. Devdaha is the ancient capital of the Koliya Kingdom. It is the maternal hometown of Queen Mayadevi (Mother), Prajapati Gautami (Stepmother), and Princess Yasodhara (consort); this is where Prince Siddhartha had spent his early childhood.  Ramagram is a brick mound that stands on the banks of the Jharahi River. It is a 7 meter high brick stupa consisting of a relic (one of the eight asthi dhatu) of Lord Buddha. The Stupa was built by the King of Ramagram, who was the eighth king to obtain the Buddha's relics.

Day 4: Fly back to Kathmandu  & Sightseeing at Boudhhanath and patan

After a hearty breakfast, we get ready for our flight back to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, we check into our hotel and refresh. We head to Boudha. A protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, Boudhanath Stupa is regarded as the most important centre of Tibetan Buddhism outside Tibet. Buddhists believe that the remains of Kasyapa Buddha (Lord Buddha’s previous incarnation) were interred at the spot where the stupa is built. At this holy site, light butter lamps and pray to Lord Buddha to bestow his blessings upon you.

Later, drive to Patan Durbar Square. Patan is one of the three medieval cities in the valley. Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site houses a palace complex dating back to the Malla dynasty and several Hindu and Buddhist shrines.
